The purchase of raw materials

As is now well known everywhere, environmental protection is a very important issue for us. In order to take environmental and animal welfare considerations into account right from the purchasing process, we obtain our raw materials (almost) exclusively from German companies. This avoids the live transport of animals and also significantly minimizes the pollution of our air. This is also part of our company philosophy of quality management!

When the goods reach our production facility, they are visually and haptically checked. In addition to the purely visual inspection, odor control and laboratory tests of samples taken are carried out in parallel. Only after all of these tests have been completed is the product released for further processing.

The further processing of the raw material

After the release described above, the meat is examined again for foreign bodies and other impurities, both visually and mechanically. All of this is done in compliance with all necessary hygiene and safety regulations. Random checks then provide additional security.

Once this part has been successfully completed, the meat is minced, diced or left whole if necessary, before being finally packaged and sealed. Only after this final step are the finished meat packages placed in the refrigerator and cooled to -50° within a few seconds. This shock freezing ensures that the nutrients are retained to the maximum and that the processed meat is of optimum quality. The packages are then stored in the cold store at -24° until they are shipped.

Quality management in our processing plant

Every two days, the quality management team meets in our production facility. During this, samples of individual batches of various products are thawed and examined, examined and tested according to various criteria. If any irregularities are found, the entire batch is removed from sale.

Quality management in our shipping warehouse

Immediately after the delivery arrives (in our shipping warehouse), the goods are examined again. Only then are they stored in our deep-freeze warehouse. The following facts are checked in particular:

  • Temperature of the goods
  • Weight of individual package
  • Quality of packaging and label
  • Exclusion of metal parts (metal detector)
  • Visual assessment for foreign bodies and composition
  • Smell of the goods

These results are recorded in a table, including the batch number and the best-before date, and are therefore always available for years to come.
