BARF with spleen

Reading time < 1 minute

The spleen is an important source of iron in BARF. As an organ that is directly connected to the bloodstream, the spleen excretes old red blood cells. This gives it a vital function. It also stores and promotes monocytes and lymphocytes of the white blood cells, thereby helping the body to defend itself against antigens. Due to the direct connection to the blood, the spleen can be used as a source of iron in BARF. In the BARF shop you will usually find offers of cow spleen, but horse spleen offers the same iron-containing effect.

With a protein content of around 18 percent, BARF spleen behaves similarly to regular beef goulash. However, we only recommend adding spleen to your cat's BARF or your dog's BARF in two to three meals. You can feed this in addition to liver and kidney. Make sure of this before you order your BARF . If you have any further questions about BARF and spleen, you can take a look at our wiki or use our contact form .
