Animal husbandry under natural living conditions is considered species-appropriate. This preserves the specific behavior of different animals, for example by allowing them to freely pursue their need for movement. Species-appropriate husbandry is intended to promote the health of the animals in particular, while reducing stress. At the same time, there is no clear definition of species-appropriate husbandry, which is why species-appropriate husbandry is rarely implemented, especially in industry.
Feeding appropriately
Within species-appropriate husbandry, species-appropriate feeding is becoming increasingly important and is finding its way into private households. The question of species-appropriate food is particularly important for dogs and cats, as they are descended from predators and their bodies are used to raw meat despite domestication. BARF is therefore becoming increasingly popular among pet owners as a way to implement biologically appropriate raw meat feeding.
Both BARF for dogs and BARF for cats include raw food such as beef , poultry , fish and much more, mixed with the right mixture of fruit and vegetables , vitamins , oils and minerals . This is intended to improve the health and resistance to disease of the four-legged companions, among other things. This means that the beloved pets are also getting closer to species-appropriate food intake.
