The course of the study
All dogs were fed commercially available dry food before the start of the study. In the initial phase of the study, the dogs were then switched to BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food). A key measurement of the study was the bacteria in the dogs' intestines, or more precisely in the microbiome. The microbiome is also known as the intestinal flora and is the totality of all microorganisms in the intestines. For recording and comparison, stool samples were taken before the start of the study to analyze the number and function of the bacteria. After 35 days, stool samples were taken again and the results compared.
The result was simply outstanding!

In just 35 days, the diversity of gut bacteria increased significantly, indicating a more vibrant gut ecosystem. More diverse bacteria mean better support for digestion, the immune system and health.
