AniForte® slippery elm bark powder is gently dried and ground. It consists of 100% American slippery elm bark and is therefore free of artificial additives. Before administration, the powder is mixed with water and boiled to create a syrup.

AniForte® Elm Bark Powder can help improve the well-being of your pet, especially if it suffers from digestive problems or inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract.

The syrup forms a layer on the stomach and intestinal walls and thus helps to harmonize the gastrointestinal tract.

In cats, mucus production can be stimulated, making it easier for swallowed hairballs to pass through the intestines.

The syrup should only be given in acute cases of need (diarrhea, inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract) and not as a long-term dose. The syrup produced by boiling settles on the mucous membranes of the stomach and intestinal walls and reduces nutrient absorption when given long-term.

Composition & Ingredients

100% American slippery elm bark

Feeding & Storage

Mix 4 g of powder (1 measuring spoon corresponds to 1 g) with approx. 250 ml of cold water in a saucepan. After boiling briefly, remove the pan from the heat and continue stirring until the powder has completely dissolved. Allow the slippery elm syrup to cool well. The cooled syrup can then be drawn into a syringe without a needle and given into your animal's mouth.

The syrup should be given 30 minutes before feeding if possible. Due to the strong mucus formation, you should not mix the syrup directly into the food, as this could inhibit the absorption of nutrients.

Dogs up to 10 kg: 5 ml twice daily
Dogs over 10 kg: 10 ml twice daily
Cats: 5 ml twice daily

Tip: If, contrary to expectations, your animal does not like to consume the syrup, you can boil the slippery elm bark powder in homemade chicken broth instead of water.
