What is BARF2GO?
This question is quickly answered: take our BARF Komfort PLUS ready-made BARF, which has been very popular for years, portion it into classic thalers, cool it down to below -50 degrees and put it in a vacuum chamber, which evaporates the frozen liquid in the meat.
The advantages of freeze-dried BARF2GO are obvious:
By removing liquid during the manufacturing process, the product loses about 2/3 of its weight and volume, but not its nutritional value. This makes it much easier to store and transport.
The BARF2GO does not need to be frozen and is therefore available immediately. Because of the processing, it does not need to be stored cold even after opening.
The processing ensures that the food is still raw – not cooked or steamed – which means that the dog avoids the classic change in food with all its problems.
BARF2GO - our freeze-dried BARF - has hardly any smell and can be fed anytime and anywhere.
BARF2GO has a dry consistency and can therefore be fed by hand without any problem. Your hands will stay clean, especially when you are on the go or during training!
In which situations can I feed BARF2GO?
Due to the properties and advantages mentioned above, feeding the BARF2GO is always a good idea when you are out and about with your dog. It doesn't matter whether you use the BARF2GO as a treat or it replaces a complete meal.
By using freeze-dried dry raw food, you can ensure that your dog gets its usual food and you can always be sure what ends up in the bowl and therefore in your dog. This is not necessarily guaranteed if you have to resort to other food or treats while you are out and about.
For the vacation
Who hasn't experienced this? You're planning your long-awaited vacation with your dog and when you're choosing your accommodation, the first and most important question is: is there a sufficiently large refrigerator to store the BARF for all those days? Or: how do I get the BARF chilled until I get to my vacation destination? Another problem that keeps coming up is: do I have enough space to store all the frozen food during the journey?
With BARF2GO, none of these problems exist. The freeze-dried dog food does not need to be transported or stored in a cool place and requires around 60% less space than conventional, frozen BARF. So you can pack it in your suitcase, put it under your car seat or even take it with you on the plane in your hand luggage.
During training

In addition to vacation , dog sports and training, there are many other reasons to use the freeze-dried BARF alternative, which is why it never hurts to have BARF2GO as a plan B in the house. These include, for example, visiting friends, a day trip with the dog, a long hike, a long car journey, feeding at the dog daycare or boarding facility, a train journey or a visit to a dog show.
But BARF2GO can also be used to overcome our human forgetfulness, for example when there is no time to portion the food or when you have simply forgotten to take the BARF out of the freezer. You can certainly think of many other situations in your personal environment in which using the BARF2GO can be a great relief.
What should be considered when feeding?
If we're honest... nothing special! Fresh water should always be available to the dog - regardless of the type of food.
It may seem a bit strange at first when you put the BARF2GO in the bowl and are shocked by the small amount.
Please remember, however, that due to the removal of moisture during freeze-drying, only 30% of the original volume remains. As a rule, approximately 1 g of freeze-dried food corresponds to 4 g of raw food. Calculate the required daily amount in advance and do not let your gut feeling lead you astray.
You can soak the BARF2GO in water for a few minutes. It will retain its shape, but will become softer and release its flavors into the water. You can also feed the flavored water directly.
Of course, you can and should add additives such as oils, herbs and other supplements for your dog – just like with the frozen BARF Komfort PLUS ready-made BARF.
