Parasites in dogs and cats are usually ticks that nest in the fur of your pets. But there are a number of other parasites that can get close to your dog or cat. Many of these parasites enter the four-legged friend's circulatory system via so-called intermediate hosts, such as mosquitoes. Various worms and single-cell organisms can live in the intestines, lungs or even the heart. To make matters worse, the symptoms often only appear after several days or even weeks. Depending on the infestation, these include diarrhea and weight loss, coughing and fever or breathing problems. While these parasites rarely cause problems in adult dogs, young animals and older dogs are mainly affected. If you suspect parasites in your dog or cat, see a vet.

In the case of ectoparasites, i.e. parasites that live on your pet's skin, you can use a few tools yourself. In our BARF shop you will find comprehensive parasite protection with care sprays, oils and tablets. You can also extend your care for cats with pet food and thus combat the parasites on dogs and cats. The care products can help to eliminate ticks and fleas in the long term. You can also support this by combing your four-legged friends' fur regularly and, of course, visits to the vet can help here too.
