Fecal matter

Fecal matter

Reading time < 1 minute

A change to BARF often has positive effects on a dog's stool output. Classic wet food and especially cheaper dry food usually contain higher amounts of fillers , the most prominent of which is certainly grain. Due to their specific physiology, dogs cannot digest and process these fillers sufficiently, which is why they remain in the stool. The fillers are then later excreted together with the other indigestible food components. This increases the dog's stool output.

BARF meat and the plant-based portion of the BARF diet do not contain any fillers, which is why a higher proportion of the food can actually be used by the dog with this type of diet. This can significantly reduce the dog's stool output, depending on its previous eating habits.

By the way: Grain-free dry food from our range also contains no fillers and is a good alternative when BARFing is not so easy, for example on vacation.
