Celeriac can support your dog with numerous nutrients and trace elements. These include vitamin C, vitamin B1 and B2, as well as iron, sodium, magnesium and phosphorus. Celeriac also has a high fiber content. Many people swear by the vegetable and so it has also found its way into dogs' bowls. When feeding your dog celeriac, however, you will need a little help: First, peel the celeriac and cut it into small cubes. Then cook the vegetable in unsalted water until soft. After you have cooled the cubes, you can give the celeriac directly to your dog or puree it first. Celeriac is ideal as part of vegetable mixes.

Be careful with celeriac if your dog is sick. Its strong diuretic effect can have health consequences, especially if the dog has weak kidneys or bladder. The diuretic effect is also noticeable when you go for a walk: if you prepare celeriac for your dog at dinner, you should expect to go out again at night. It is advisable to feed your dog in the morning so that you can go for a walk as usual during the day.
