Carnivores are animals, plants or fungi that feed primarily on animals or animal tissue. The term refers to the genus alongside herbivores and omnivores. A predator is often automatically classified as a carnivore, but many predators also feed on plants or even mainly on plants and are therefore omnivores.
Dogs and cats can also be described as omnivores. However, their ancestors and relatives, such as wolves and big cats, can be described as carnivores, although wolves in particular also eat twigs, roots and berries. BARF is therefore based on this natural type of diet. BARF meat is offered either individually or in a mix, so you can decide for yourself what to add. In addition to supplements such as vitamins, oils and minerals , we also recommend adding fruit and vegetables for dogs and cats. Although lions and big cats usually eat the meat of their prey, they also enjoy a little raw food now and then. It is also a natural form of vitamin intake for your four-legged friends and is therefore a legitimate part of BARF dog food and BARF cat food.
