In recent years, hemp oil has become a reliable supplier of important nutrients for BARF. You can order the dark oil in many BARF shops and use it as a food supplement for cats and dogs. First of all, it is important to note that hemp oil does not contain THC, which means it does not have an intoxicating effect. So you should continue to only take your dog on trips when you go for a walk or on vacation.

Hemp oil has become very popular in BARF because it contains numerous acids and vitamins that the animal (and human) body needs. Accordingly, hemp oil is very helpful for dogs and cats. The ratio between omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids is particularly noteworthy here. Although both fatty acids are vital for your pets, omega-6 fatty acids often predominate, meaning that omega-3 fatty acids are neglected - for example in fish. In contrast, the ratio of acids is much more balanced when you use hemp oil in BARF, which is beneficial for your furry companion's body.

In addition, the nutty oil contains numerous vitamins (E, B1, B2), minerals (calcium, phosphorus) and trace elements (iron, zinc). This makes hemp oil ideal for dogs and cats. Mix the hemp oil into the BARF meat every day. For small dogs, half a teaspoon is enough, while for medium and large dogs, you can feed a whole or one and a half teaspoons of hemp oil. For other supplements, take a look at our BARF online shop . Use our BARF calculator to get an overview of a balanced raw meat diet.
